If you wish to delay ejaculation or experience multiple male orgasms, it is necessary to understand the stages of the male orgasm. If you are engaging in “edging” or “ruined orgasm” with a male partner, understanding the stages of male orgasm will help you edge your partner more effectively.
There are three stages to the male orgasm:
- Orgasmic Stage: This stage occurs when a man begins to feel the first stirrings of orgasmic sensations, right up to the point of ejaculation.
- Ejaculatory Stage: This stage occurs at the peak of orgasm, when the body sends signals to the testicles to release semen into the prostate and out through the urethra.
- Contraction Stage: If stimulation continues through the ejaculatory stage, involuntary muscle contractions will quickly expel sperm through the urethra. A brief peak of pleasure and relief occurs, followed by an uncomfortable sensitivity in the erogenous zones.
It’s important to remember that orgasm and ejaculation are not the same thing! Orgasm begins prior to ejaculation and continues through the ejaculatory and contraction stages if stimulation is continually applied to the penis. If you stop stimulation before the ejaculatory stage, you can edge yourself or your partner over and over again. If you stop right at the ejaculatory stage, you or your partner will have an ejaculation, but without the contractions that accompany a full orgasm. If you continue through the contraction stage, an intense ejaculatory orgasm will be completed, and you or your partner will enter a refractory period, during which the penis will be harder to arouse.
If you wish to have multiple orgasms or even multiple ejaculations, it is important to stop all stimulation prior to the ejaculatory or contraction stages. For more advice on edging, delaying ejaculation or multiple male orgasms, read our eBook, Ultimate Male Pleasure.
