Premature ejaculation is when you ejaculate sooner than your or your partner feel is ideal. For an optimal sexual experience, you need to be able to last long enough to satisfy your partner, as well as for your own enjoyment.
Fortunately, premature ejaculation can be easily treated. By learning techniques to delay ejaculation, you and your partner can have a more satisfying sexual experience.
Relax and Slow Down
When you’re feeling orgasmic, the tendency is to give in to the sensation and push through to ejaculation. Instead, slow down. By slowing your strokes, you should be able to hold off the urge to ejaculate. If you continue to feel overly aroused, simply stop for five seconds before continuing.
Breathe Deeply
When you’re approaching orgasm, breathe deeply into your belly. This abdominal breathing will help tame your arousal and allow you to last longer. Continue inhaling and exhaling slowly to maintain your current level of arousal.
Try for Multiple Ejaculations
Just can’t hold it? Stop all stimulation at the point of ejaculation (pull out of your partner, take your hand off your cock, etc.) and simply let the ejaculation happen. If you continue stimulation, the contraction stage of orgasm will kick in and you will lose all desire to continue. When you ejaculate without triggering the involuntary muscle contractions we associate with orgasm, your overall arousal level will drop a bit. But you should be aroused enough to continue.
After your first partial-orgasm ejaculation, you should be able to last a while longer before having a second one.
Do Kegel Exercises
Kegels are often prescribed for men who suffer from premature ejaculation. To perform a Kegel, contract the PC muscle. This is the muscle in your pelvis that you use to stop the flow of urine. Contract, hold for five seconds, then release. Do this for 10-20 repetitions several times a day.
When you feel the urge to ejaculate, stop and contract your PC muscle to stop ejaculation. This may take some practice, so keep at it.
Practice Makes Perfect
The exercises above are easier to practice by yourself. When masturbating, see how long you can last before ejaculating by slowing your pace (or stopping) when feeling orgasmic, performing abdominal breathing, and using Kegels to stop ejaculation. Once you’re able to last for at least fifteen to twenty minutes, you can try it with a partner.
